Sixteen golds for Wisbech swimmers

SIXTEEN gold medals were won by members of Wisbech Swimming Club at the Cambridgeshire Novice County Championships. Twenty three swimmers represented the club over 131 races. Sixteen silver and 15 bronze medals were won and 66 personal bests were achieve

SIXTEEN gold medals were won by members of Wisbech Swimming Club at the Cambridgeshire Novice County Championships.

Twenty three swimmers represented the club over 131 races.

Sixteen silver and 15 bronze medals were won and 66 personal bests were achieved by members of the club.

Star performers were Laura Pattern, who won six gold and one silver, Emily Pilbeam with four golds and John Green with five silver and three bronze medals.

The Wisbech club travelled to Boston for the latest round of the Anglian League to compete against Boston A and B, St Neots and Chatteris.

Sam Johnson, Leah Harrington and John Green produced the only wins of the evening, all set new personal best times and Green also beat the set cut off time for the under-15s individual medley.

Fourteen personal best times were set by the team through out the gala.

Wisbech finished in fourth place on 77 points.
