A SUCCSSFUL all-day grading session at Wisbech's Hudson Leisure Centre saw 74 karate students pass new grades with 31 achieving the high rank of 3rd Kyu to 1st Kyu.

They were all members of Wisbech Samurai Karate School and there were many personal best performances but two students achieved a first ever seal of excellence pass.

Juniors Owen Beresford and his sister Holly Beresford achieved this mark for outstanding performances in achieving their 4th Kyu passes.

Sensei Steve King said: "The overall standard was outstanding and all students achieved great progress.

"The high grade session in the afternoon was one of the best ever seen with some excellent performances the school is very proud of all our students and the very hard work that they have put in to achieve these results.

"To achieve such a high number of passes at this level is a great achievement for our school."
