NORFOLK MERIT TABLE, LEAGUE ONE

Wisbech II 14 Watton 6

WISBECH'S seconds will look to continue their momentum from this well-deserved win when they entertain Norwich Union tomorrow.

Wisbech stuck to their task against a well-organised side.

They absorbed pressure for long periods and scrum-half David Salmon and No. 8 Ben Rogers took control of most of what Wisbech did well.

Wisbech conceded a penalty after five minutes but impressed with ball in hand and were quick to the break downs.

Unfortunate to go a further penalty behind on the half-hour mark, Wisbech went into half-time confident of overturning Watton's slender advantage.

Wisbech started the second half well and made a few changes in personnel that brought some well-deserved scores.

James Napier was introduced on the wing and quickly made his pace tell.

After his incisive run Matt Ringwood pounced to score. Paul Rogers added the conversion for a 7-6 lead.

Wisbech took the game beyond Watton's reach when Napier crossed the line with 15 minutes left and Sam Anderson slotted the conversion.

Wisbech seconds kick off at 3pm tomorrow, and the first team will be looking to maintain their perfect start to the league season, with two wins from two games, when they travel to Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth tomorrow.
