Local racing driver Terry Roughton kicked off the racing season in style by securing a top ten finish in the 750 Motor Club’s K-Tec Racing Clio 182 championship.

Roughton, from Wisbech, took his place behind the wheel for the first time this term at Donington Park and qualified in 11th out of a field of 25 drivers for both the first and second races.

Oil on the track in race one made driving difficult for the entire field of competitors, but Roughton defied the tricky conditions and held off his competition all the way to the finish line to race to a tenth-place finish.

In race two, Terry got away well from the lights and fought with the cars around him, but a car slipped past him, dropping Terry to 12th place by the time the chequered flag dropped.

Terry is back in action on May 2, where he will compete at the Castle Combe Circuit in Wiltshire.
