FOLLOWING the North Cambs finals in July the county champions attended the EBF National Outdoor Championships at Skegness last week.
Over five days of mixed weather conditions heavy rain, showers, strong winds and some sunshine North Cambs found themselves in six semi-finals with Ralph Jackson who had qualified in five events being in three of them.
Five semi-finals were very closely fought but were all lost.
However, Jackson who played 11 games in a very busy week with four games on the first day reached the final of the senior
men's pairs playing with fellow St Lawrence bowler Ronnie Croxford.
They started well but over the last two ends at 14-14 dropped five shots to lose to Humberside.
Vice President of North Cambs Bowls Association Eric Clarke said: "Ralph has done the county proud by the way he played this week".
