Parkeston has prompted frustrated Wisbech Town manager Dick Creasey to rethink his tactics before the next game.

With both defences looking vulnerable and two players receiving red cards, the weekend's Ridgeons Premier clash could have easily ended as a 10-10 draw.

In the end, the Fenland Park crowd of 192 had to be content with just the eight goals.

The home side got off to a great start when Michael Harwood put through his own net in the second minute, but Rob Thorne put the visitors back on level terms four minutes later.

Harwich took the lead on 26 minutes when Lee Underwood headed in, but back came Wisbech.

And when Darren Jimson was fouled in the box, Lee Matson received his marching orders and

Luke Kennedy converted the resulting penalty.

The second half was just as eventful and Underwood restored the visitors' lead nine minutes after the break.

In an extraordinary period of seven minutes, Jimson levelled the scores again with a neat finish before Stuart Cobb put Wisbech 4-3 up four minutes later.

But, within two minutes, Underwood again took advantage of the shaky Wisbech defence to complete his hat-trick and make the score 4-4.

There was still time for Wisbech's Stuart Cobb to receive his second yellow card of the half and both sides went close to netting a winner in the final minutes.

Although the match would have entertained the fans, Creasey was far from pleased.

He said: "I am not happy with the game at all.

"We should have scored at least four more and the goals we conceded were nothing short of criminal for a side of our standard."

"We have been working hard in training this week to iron out the mistakes but, to be fair, it wasn't just the defenders who had a bad game.

"We didn't defend as a team and that is something we will have to fix."

Wisbech will be hoping to tighten things up when they visit Needham Market tomorrow (Saturday) and Creasey is considering a new formation.

He said: "I have been pondering taking Steve Appleby out of midfield to play him as a sweeper in a five-man defence, and I may well decide to use it against Needham Market.

"It will be a tough game because they have a lot of good, young players and are well organised."

Andy Lodge was substituted with a tight hamstring on Saturday and Creasey will await the results of a physio's report before playing him tomorrow.

New signing Dan Ruscillo will miss the game with a hamstring injury, but Adam Weston will be available and Lewis Brooks returns from a one-game suspension.

Chris Dear is close to full fitness and Mark Jimson came through light training successfully on his return from a hernia operation.

Creasey may well have seen the Harwich game as two points dropped rather than a point gained, but he still has his sights set high this season. He said: "I still stick to my aims to get us into the top six of the league - I am sure that we can achieve that."

WISBECH Town face a tough away match in the semi-finals of the Cambs Invitation Cup.

The Fenmen will play either cup holders Soham Town Rangers or Over Sports in the match on Tuesday, February 27.

In the other semi-final, Histon or Cottenham United will entertain Ely City or Cambridge City.
