Wisbech Town boss Dick Creasey admitted his men had to play ugly in order to take all three points last weekend.
The Fenmen ground out a 3-0 win at Sleaford Town last Saturday thanks to another penalty from goalkeeper Sam Vince and strikes from Michael Frew and Liam Adams in the second half.
And while Creasey was pleased to see his side bounce back from their midweek 3-2 defeat to Eynesbury Rovers last week, he admitted it wasn’t his side’s best display.
“The score line probably flattered us,” he said.
“Sleaford is always a place where you know what you’re going to get. You know they’re always going to be very direct and very hard to beat and that wasn’t any different on Saturday.
“Sometimes you have to go to places like Sleaford and win ugly. We won the game but it wasn’t a spectacle to watch.
“Those who came to watch probably wanted their money back but hey ho – it’s three points.”

Wisbech host Newport Pagnell Town on Saturday afternoon and Creasey says Wisbech will have to be at their best to see off their challenge.
“After they went out of the FA Vase they went on a run until they lost to Yaxley at home last weekend,” he said.
“We know what a good side they are and we’ll have to be ready for it.”
