Wisbech racer James Williams got behind the wheel of his new car for 2016 at Brands Hatch last week after also announcing a sponsorship deal which will see the championship bear the name of his engineering firm.

Wisbech Standard:

Williams raced in the 2000cc Classic class last season, driving a Formula Renault, with a best result of sixth, but will be moving to the flagship Formula 3 class of the JMT Mono Championship with his new Lola F106/03 car this season, which he recently purchased from reigning champion Robbie Watts - who used the car to win three back-to-back championships.

Williams’ company, JM Technical, is also the new Monoposto championship sponsor, now known as the JMT Mono Championship, and will be providing electricity for competitors and enhancing the hospitality services as part of a multi-facetted partnership.

Monoposto Chairman, Edward Guest said: “Support from JMTechnical will certainly enhance the racing experience with our club for our members. Many of our championship rounds are over a weekend so for JMTechnical to be able to provide additional paddock facilities for our members will be a great improvement and we look forward to a long association with them.”

JMTechnical Group Managing Director, James Williams said: “At JMT, we are very excited about this new partnership with Monoposto and the opportunities it will bring. Monoposto has been a great launch pad for our motorsport division and we look forward to the release of some new products and services this year.”
