MEMBERS of a Wisbech based mixed martial arts club tasted glory at the Spiritual Warrior MMA Tournament in Peterborough.
Alex Harris won gold for Avaddon MMA in the under 84kg weight category after winning the final with a straight arm bar in the second round. Kuba Banach and Tom White picked up silver’s while Aaron Jeffrey’s collected a bronze. Mark Durrington and Jordon Reed also competed in the event.
Former Youth Olympic judo silver medallist Dominic King visited the club, based at the Hudson Leisure Centre in Wisbech, to take a well attended junior and senior seminar.
The multi British champion took an energetic three hour session which taught a variety of different throws and techniques.
“We would like to thank Dominic and hope he comes back in the future,” said Chris Ellington who runs the club.
“The session should prove beneficial to our members who can use their new skills they picked up in competition.”
