The Wisbech and District South Road Club celebrated a fantastic year at their annual prize giving at the Beechwood House Function Rooms in Leverington.
A special round of applause was reserved for Stewart McCurry, who became the first fancier in Wisbech to win a national event.
In the course of the year, McCurry, of Walsoken S & T McCurry racing lofts, picked up 11 first prizes and 45 other diplomas.
Prizes: Robbie Clark - 6th Bovingdon; Jimmy Thompson - 3rd Salisbury; Rick Cleverley - 2nd Salisbury; Denis Taylor - three diplomas; George Trundle - three diplomas; Les Papp - 1st Carantan (France) and seven other diplomas; Terry Roughton - 1st Salisbury & Cup and four other diplomas; Alan Maile - 1st Bovingdon & Cup, 1st Salisbury & Cup and 11 other diplomas; Mick & Daley Godfrey - 1st Carantan and nine other diplomas; Willy and Cathy Beckett - 1st Lyndhurst & Cup, 1st Newbury & Cup, 1st Poole & Cup and 17 other diplomas; Shaun & Lisa Bowles - seven first prize diplomas and 12 other diplomas.
