Martial artists from the Carter School of Taekwon-Do in Wisbech returned with medals from the UKTA English Open championships.

Dominic Marcinkevicius, left, competed in the green belt U13, over 146cm competition and fought his way to a silver medal in a blaze of specialist moves.

Stuart Murat, right, entered the U13 blue and red belt over 145cm event, putting some of his best sparring moves to good use to claim the bronze medal.

Stuart's mother Dawn, who is also a student at the Carter School, said: "Stuart works tremendously hard perfecting his skills and deserved to get a medal."

The medals come on the 40th anniversary of the UK Taekwon-Do Association's formation and ninth degree black belt Grandmaster Rhee was the presiding official.

The Carter School of Taekwon-Do is based at the Hudson Leisure Centre in Wisbech. Lessons are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6-7pm and the first lesson is free. Contact Anthony Carter on 01366 387601.
