Ladies celebrate successful President’s Day at Sutton Bridge Golf Club

LADIES at Sutton Bridge Golf Club enjoyed a successful President’s Day with Betty Reeve and Anne Clarke ending up tied for the lead after an enthralling contest.

Both golfers finished on 35 points with Margaret Fox on 32. Jenny Wells won Nearest to the Pin while Carole Whitelam took the Hidden Hole prize.

Meanwhile, Sutton Bridge Old Boys lost their match with Middleton Hall Golf Club by a point.

Sid Everitt and Chris Shipp won their match, Stan Poulton and Roger Williamson recorded a comfortable victory and Richard Tichener and Noel Clare halved their contest.

But Ray Page and Robin Pumffrey, Harold Shingleton and Tony Town and Don Robinson and John Cross lost their ties to leave Sutton beaten.
