SCHOOLBOY karting star George Russell dominated the third round of the WSK Euro Series in Italy before engine problems struck in the final.
Russell, 13, from Tydd St Giles, won four of his five heats and the 16-lap pre-final comfortably before his engine failed to fire-up properly on the grid during the final at the weekend.
The Wisbech Grammar School student was around 12 seconds behind the park and became embroiled in a crash but battled back from 34th to finish in 9th place.
The talented teenager remains fifth out of 117 racers in the championship standings after the La Conca meeting.
