WHITTLESEY youngster James Hill-Seekings banged in four goals against Arsenal to earn a place in Peterborough United's Centre of Excellence.

The nine-year-old has been signed for the club until he is 16.

He will then learn if he is to be taken on as a full-time professional footballer.

Hill-Seekings, who can play in central midfield or up-front, was spotted at Peterborough United's open trials in Hinchingbrooke.

The Park Lane Primary School pupil had further trials in July and then played matches against Rotherham and Arsenal.

He scored two goals against the Yorkshire club and four against the Gunners.

Hill-Seekings was approaching his third season with Whittlesey Juniors but he will now play for Peterborough every Sunday.

Mother, Jo, said: "It's been an unbelievable experience for him. One week he was playing in the local park and the next he's playing at Arsenal and scoring four goals.

"He's had some problems at home to deal with but he's just got his head down and concentrated on his football and he's also doing well at school. I'm so proud of him."

She added: "James watched a Manchester United match on television two and a half years ago and ever since then he's been football nuts.

"He's always got a football at his feet and if we go out anywhere he'll even take a ball in the car with him.
