Jacksons win Les Howard Memorial Tournament

CMB Bowls Club held their 9th annual Les Howard Memorial game, in memory of their past Chairman and green keeper, at their Railway Road green this Sunday in glorious sunshine.

 

24 pairs of bowlers played in 4 groups of 6 teams with the winners from each group going into the semi-finals:

Lesley Darch and Terry Brown, Annie and Steve Engledow, Christine and Ralph Jackson, and Doug Turner and David Bailey. 

 

The winners of the semi-finals Lesley Darch and Terry Brown and Christine and Ralph Jackson then played in the final with Christine and Ralph winning a very close game to become the new Champions.

 

The event was kindly sponsored by Terry and Tina Hawkins of Fenland Fire Appliance Company who presented the trophies with Edna Howard to the winners and runners up.

Thanks go to John Fox who organised the event, the ladies who provided the lunches, teas and coffees and all the raffle ticket sellers.

 

A total of nearly £470 was raised to be presented at a later date to the Macmillan Palliative Care Centre Wisbech.
