Fenland Running club members Andre Pittock, Andy Wicklen and Mel Trayford from ran to impressive times in the Pedars Way Ultra Marathon.

The marathon, which began at Knettishall Heath on the Suffolk border and finished at the village hall Kirkgate near Holme Next-the-Sea on the North Norfolk Coast, was organised by Positive Steps, Fitness and Wellbeing.

The 48-mile course followed The Pedars Way which is an ancient Roman road, and covered was completed by a total of 121 finishers from the 129 starters last Sunday.

Running as a group of three for mutual support, unfortunately Wicklen pulled up with an injury just after half-way and having completed over a marathon distance.

Andre and Mel, however, managed to keep working together and helping each other when the other was feeling the pressure and fatigue and finished together with Andre 43rd in a time of 9:00:44 and Mel 44th in 9:00:47.
