WISBECH boss Steve Taylor believes he has the tactical nous to overcome free-scoring Mildenhall Town, who come to Fenland Park for an FA Cup preliminary round clash on Saturday.
Ex-Wisbech striker Robbie Harris, who scored four in Midlenhall's opening day 8-2 win over Whitton United, is expected to play and Midlenhall have also beaten Haverhill 4-1, and Felixstowe and Walton 8-0 in the FA Cup.
They came unstuck on Saturday and suffered a shock 3-0 defeat at Harwich and Parkeston, but bounced back with a 2-1 win over Tiptree on Tuesday night with Harris scoring two penalties.
Taylor said: "I watched Tuesday's match and they are a lively side with good movement at the back and they don't usually give much away at the back.
"But I knocked them out of the FA Cup with Haverhill last year and also beat them in the League Cup and the league so I know how to beat them but we will have to defend well and be at our best."
Taylor was impressed with his side's performance on Saturday, despite suffering a 3-1 home league defeat against last season's Ridgeons Premier Division runners-up Needham Market.
The match saw Needham Market, featuring former Man City and West Ham midfielder Kevin Horlock, go 1-0 down after 30 minutes when James McManus scored with a low shot from 16 yards.
The visitors equalised 10 minutes later with a close-range Tom Smith finish and Danny Smy put them 2-1 up by lobbing Chris Horton almost immediately coming off the bench in the 75th minute.
Wisbech's Gary Setchell saw his header cleared off the line by a defender and after two fine Horton saves Glenn Snell finished in the box to seal the win.
Taylor said: "Needham Market nearly won the league last season and their squad has improved over the summer but we put up a good fight.
"I was disappointed with the officials because their equaliser came after a blatant foul on Billy Smith."
n A testimonial match will be played for Wisbech player Mark Jimson on September 15 at 7.45pm.
The Fenmen will take on Blue Square North side King's Lynn.
Admission is £5 for adults, £3 concessions and the match kicks off at 7.45pm.
This will be the last match at Fenland Park.
