TENNIS player Jack Briggs, 12, was awarded the Peter Peukert Trophy on Saturday.

Peter Peukert died 20 years ago and was regarded as a great supporter of junior tennis.

He was team captain and honorary secretary of Wisbech Lawn Tennis Club.

The trophy is awarded annually to the club's most consistent player.

Other nominees from all age groups who also received certificates and medals were: Oscar Harrison, Thomas Kelly, Madeleine Boulton and James Bales.

The nominees were all congratulated by club coach, Lisa Kennedy, for their hard work and improved play during the year.

Junior and adult coaching is currently taking place at the Thomas Clarkson College.
