PROMISING athlete Jamie Horne achieved a lifetime best after being selected to compete for the Cambridgeshire School Athletics Team at high jump.
Horne, 13, from Tydd St Giles, qualified for the county’s school junior boys team after achieving second place at the Cambs School Championships at the start of June.
The call-up inspired the Wisbech Grammar School athlete - who also competes for the Isle of Ely Schools Team - to jump a personal best of 1.60m at the Eastern Young Athletes League competition in Stevenage on June 12.
