TWO Wisbech sides tasted defeat against Cambridge Nomads outfits but the thirds got revenge against City of Peterborough’s fourths by beating them comfortably.

THE home side took an early two-goal lead but Wisbech drew level with goals from Drew Harvey and Daniel Martell in an ill-tempered game. Aaron Cobb made it 3-3 after Letchworth had taken the lead again in the second half but the home side struck a winner in the dying seconds of the game.

A DOUBLE from Phil Norman wasn’t enough to prevent the seconds going down comfortably at the high-flying Nomads.

WISBECH got their revenge for a 10-0 thumping earlier this season and cruised to victory with goals from Richard Caxton, Hugo Atkins and Adam Thomas. The result means the side are now guaranteed a second season in the division after clinching promotion last year.

Goals from Jonathan Boyall, Josh Holmes and Danny Emmington was not enough to prevent defeat in a game which ‘keeper Adam Forder played superbly.

Cambridgeshire Ladies League - Premier Division

Cambridge South 1 Wisbech II 0

A BREAKAWAY goal from Cambs South robbed Wisbech of a precious and deserved point. Katie Dunn was player of the match and Sue Slator also excelled.
