AS the ladies secured the title, Wisbech’s men put in strong performances of their own to seal a successful weekend for the hockey club.

WISBECH heaped more misery on the relegated Pelicans by dishing out another thumping on Saturday.

Drew Harvey and David Wood fired Wisbech ahead but the visitors twice hit back to equalise.

But a twenty-minute second half blitz saw Brad Apted bag a brace and Aaron Cobb, Matthew Lavender, Tom Jupp and Dan Martell sealed the win.

AFTER avoiding relegation last week, Wisbech continued their winning run with a hard-fought victory over St Neots.

The visitors took the lead in the first half but Wisbech hit back after the break, with Gary Freear bagging a brace by slotting home two penalty corners.

A depleted Wisbech team limped to defeat at Horncastle, with Hugo Atkins’ goal the only thing for the visitors to cheer about. Sam Portham was man of the match.
