TWO good away wins in four days saw March Town United climb up the Ridgeon s League Division 1 table, and progress in the division s knock-out cup. The Hares bounced back from last week s defeat to Saffron Walden by thumping Thetford Town 4-0 on Saturday.

The Hares bounced back from last week's defeat to Saffron Walden by thumping Thetford Town 4-0 on Saturday.
And, on Tuesday, they progressed to the second round of the division knock-out cup with a 4-2 victory at Swaffham Town.
Two goals from Ashley Brand meant the Hares led Thetford 2-0 at half-time on Saturday, but that score could have been much more.

James Richardson had a 25-yard shot well saved by the Thetford keeper; Finlay Clarkson had a shot from outside the penalty box cannon off the crossbar; and Brand had a shot scrambled away by a Thetford defender.
The Hares made a wobbly start to the second half, however, with keeper Chris Anker producing a great save from point-blank range to safeguard the clean sheet.

That save inspired the Hares to push forward and win convincingly - Craig Norman volleyed home from a corner from 12 yards out and James MacCallum headed home from a Brand cross to complete the scoring.
Tuesday's cup tie was a much closer affair, but two goals each from Brand and captain Luke Pepper ensured the Hares progressed to the next round.
Pepper scored the opener with a good drive past former March keeper Lee Brooks, but former Hare Paul Schaefer equalised for Swaffham.
March lost their composure and conceded a second goal minutes later, but Pepper's second strike and Brand's first of the night ensured the Hares took a 3-2 lead into half-time.
Swaffham pushed for an equaliser in the second half, but March caught them on the break and Brand hit his fourth of the week to put the result beyond doubt.
n March welcome Long Melford to the GER tomorrow (Saturday). Kick-off is at 3pm.
