THE Wisbech-based Avaddon Mixed Martial Arts Club came away from a cage fighting show in Lowestoft with three wins out of three and a regional champion.

Jay Cuccienello was named East Anglia lightweight semi-pro champion because his opponent Daniel Dwyer pulled out.

Cuccienello's club-mate Ed Green completed a massive personal triumph, winning his first lightweight bout after recovering from a life-threatening operation to save his baby daughter's life.

We reported earlier this year how Green donated a quarter of his liver to save his daughter Amelia, who suffered from a rare liver condition.

Green, now fully recovered from his operation in March, defeated the experienced Alex Morris from Combat Ju Jitsu MMA.

He finished the fight in the first round with an impressive arm lock.

There were also wins for the Wisbech club's Sebastian Janiszewski, who beat Jonny West in an amateur middleweight fight with a first-round choke submission, and Andrew Dennis who beat Sam Creasey from Elite TC with a rear naked choke within the first three minutes.

Instructor Chris Ellington wishes to congratulate all of his fighters.
