I would really appreciate it if you could put a write up in your paper for the cage fighting show that Avaddon MMA attended at the weekend. The fight show was called "Critical Countdown" and was held at Waterlane Leisure Centre, Lowestoft. Avaddon had 4 fighters on this event - But unfortunately the main event of the evening and for the East Anglian Title - was called off on the day due to Jay Cuccienello's from Peterborough(Avaddon MMA) opponent Daniel Dwyer pulling out. Jay was obviously disappointed but was awarded the Title due to the no show. Sebastian Janiszewski(Avaddon) from Wisbech, took on Jonny West in a middleweight amateur fight. Sebastian dominated Jonny beating him with a choke submission in the very first round. This was Sebastian's first amateur fight in which he looked very impressive. Andrew Dennis(Avaddon) also from Wisbech, took part in his first featherweight amateur bout. Andrew was competing against Sam Creasey from Elite TC. Andrew only took this fight on two weeks notice but immediately took his opponent down and within 3 minutes, submitted Sam with a rear naked choke. (I would really like it if you could make the following man Ed Green the focus of this article): Ed had an life threatening operation to save the life of his baby daughter only in March this year, His daughter Amelia suffered from a rare liver condition where he had to donate a quarter of his liver in surgery which is 30 times more risky than a living transplant. The operations were both successful and both father and daughter are fit and healthy. As soon as Ed was able he rejoined his team mates in training and was keen to compete in his first lightweight bout. Ed took on the much more experienced Alex Morris from Combat Ju Jitsu MMA. Alex started the fight very aggressively but Ed stayed composed and also finished his fight in the first round with an impressive arm lock. Chris felt that Ed's achievement was especially impressive due to his recent circumstances and would like to congratulate all the lads on their performances. Avaddon train at the Hudson Leisure Centre, Wisbech Monday and Thursdays 8.00pm - 9.30pm for Seniors and Junior sessions (8-16) are being held on a Thursday 7-8pm. Contact Chris 07815 088243. I have attached a picture of the whole team with the trainers and cornermen (who are from left to right) Sebastian Janiszewski, Jay Cuccienello, AJ "The Curse" Wenn, Chris Ellington (Coach), Andrew Dennis, Ed Green, Kristian Hunns. THE Wisbech-based Avaddon Mixed Martial Arts Club came away from a cage fighting show in Lowestoft with three wins out of three and a regional champion.

Jay Cuccienello was named East Anglia lightweight semi-pro champion because his opponent Daniel Dwyer pulled out.

Cuccienello's club-mate Ed Green completed a massive personal triumph, winning his first lightweight bout after recovering from a life-threatening operation to save his baby daughter's life.

We reported earlier this year how Green donated a quarter of his liver to save his daughter Amelia, who suffered from a rare liver condition.

Green, now fully recovered from his operation in March, defeated the experienced Alex Morris from Combat Ju Jitsu MMA.

He finished the fight in the first round with an impressive arm lock.

There were also wins for the Wisbech club's Sebastian Janiszewski, who beat Jonny West in an amateur middleweight fight with a first-round choke submission, and Andrew Dennis who beat Sam Creasey from Elite TC with a rear naked choke within the first three minutes.

Instructor Chris Ellington wishes to congratulate all of his fighters.
