Good form from Wisbech juniors

Wisbech Rugby Club youth teams travelled to Holt on Sunday to take on teams from both Holt and North Walsham.

 

The Wisbech under 9 youngsters had not played for 4 weeks due to poor weather, but were fired up and ready to prove themselves.

 

In the first game the Wisbech boys played a strong North Walsham team, but their superior team play paid off with a 3-1 victory.  The Wisbech try scorers were Frank Etherington, Thomas Nunn & Cameron Finlay. 

 

In the second match the Wisbech youngsters played a quality Barbarian side and held firm winning 2-1.  Try scorers were Thomas Nunn & Cameron Finlay.

 

In the third game the Wisbech boys played a well organised Holt side in what was one of their best ever of rugby games.  There was some superb play by both teams and it could have gone either way, but in the end Holt won 4-3.  The Wisbech try scorers were Frank Etherington, Luke Fey and Thomas Nunn.

 

Player of the week was Luke Fey for his outstanding forward play.

Etherington, Luke Fey and Nunn scored in a 4-3 defeat to Holt but this was one of the Wisbech team's best performances.

Fey was player of the week for his outstanding forward play.

Wisbech's under-7s were also in action and had a 7-4 win over Holt, a 6-6 draw with North Walsham and 5-3 loss.
