IN the 2009 September Medal former president of Norfolk and Ryston Park Golf Club John Alflatt achieved the rare distinction of playing to his age.

His gross score of 81 (net 69) was the second time that John has matched his age in competition, the previous occasion being in 2002.

The most recent score is all the more remarkable as John has just returned to golf after a lengthy break because of injury.

John said after his round that he felt his score was made easier by the fact that the course was in the best condition he could remember in more than sixty years of being a member.
