Two Wisbech St Mary sides were involved in six-goal thrillers last weekend.
The Saints’ first team bounced back from their 4-2 defeat to Team Bury on February 11 by beating Cornard United by the same score line in the Thurlow Nunn First Division.
Nick Davey struck a terrific treble and Jack Friend fired another goal as the Villagers’ front two guided Arran Duke’s men to an 11th victory of what is proving to be a successful season in Step Six football.
The club’s reserves, however, were on the wrong end of a 4-2 score line against Red Lodge in the Kershaw Senior B Division of the Cambs League.
The Division’s league leaders struck four times to send St Mary to their first defeat since December 10.
