Wisbech Town have moved swiftly to appoint Gary Setchell as their new manager.

The 42 year-old returns for a second spell in the Fenmen hotseat following the resignation of Dick Creasey earlier this week.

Setchell has been out of the game since a surprise sacking by King’s Lynn Town back in February.

He managed the Norfolk side for almost seven years, guiding them to two promotions in the process.

Setchell left Wisbech to take up that post with the Linnets, when they were re-formed, but now returns to the Elgoods Fenland Stadium.

He inherits a side that has endured a tough start to the United Counties League Premier Division season, losing four of their six games to date.

That poor run convinced Creasey to step down from his third spell as boss. Coach Martyn Bunce has also left.

Assistant boss Paul Cousins, coaches Glen Maddison and Luke Hipwell, and physio Tom Chapman have all been invited to stay on.
