Pupils and staff from Townley School and pre-school in Christchurch are celebrating after being awarded a Premier League Primary Stars kit and equipment pack.

The pack contains books, sports kit, stickers, bookmarks, assembly ideas and activities which have helped the children learn new skills and developing their resilience and team building.

The Kit and Equipment Scheme forms part of the Premier League Primary Stars offer to primary schools in England and Wales, a curriculum-linked education programme that uses the appeal of the Premier League to inspire children to learn and be active.

Delivered by the Football Foundation, the scheme gives teachers a range of equipment that can be used across different curriculum areas to get children active.

Lucy Barnes, teaching assistant at Townley, said: “The children love entering football and netball competitions with children in our cluster of schools.

“We have not had the finances to invest it their kit so this kit has motivated the children as they feel proud to wear the Premier League kit.”
