WISBECH fared far better in this post-Christmas friendly than the scoreline suggests.

For the majority of the game, Wisbech were the equal match for Long Sutton's ladies first team, with the greater part of the match played in the Long Sutton half.

It was the precision finishing of Long Sutton's forwards who converted nearly every scoring chance and the solid sweep defence, thwarting the few chances that Wisbech made, that tipped the balance so significantly.

For the most part, good defending from Kat Doyle, Steph Hanlon and Jane Littlechild kept Long Sutton at bay, but the few defensive errors that were made were severely punished.

Gilly Dunn and Vicky Herbert worked hard in the forwards along with joint players of the match Kirsty MacLeod and Georgina Dunn, but the Long Sutton defence had answers to all their attacks.
