BEFORE Saturday's win, Fenland Park held a minute's silence as a mark of respect for three former Wisbech Town players who recently died.

The tribute was for former England international Billy Elliott who died on January 21 at the age of 82, Daniel Markille, who died in a car crash on January 18, at the age of 20, and Brian Alexander, who died of cancer on January 25, aged 48.

Elliott was capped five times for England.

He played 117 times for the Fenmen in the late 1950s and early 1960s alongside Jesse Pye - another Wisbech player who had played for England.

Markille played for Wisbech under-18s between 2004 and 2006 alongside current players Scott Cubberley, Sam Kilby, Chris Horton and Scott McManus.

He also played for Parson Drove Football Club.

Alexander played numerous games as a striker for the Fenmen in the 1980s and 1990s.
