NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: Wisbech Town hope to get that Friday feeling again

Wisbech Town got the Friday feel last week - and they will be hoping for a repeat performance today.
The Fenmen turned in a top away display at Peterborough Northern Star and returned to the Fens with a 4-1 win and three points which fired them into sixth place in the UCL Premier Division Standings.
Wisbech had four different goal scorers to thank for their third straight league success – Sam Murphy, Luke Wilson, Liam Adams and Alex Beck – and manager Dick Creasey said his side were worthy of their win.
“We’ve got to be happy with what we got,” he said.
“We got a little bit sloppy all over the park and that lead to their goal but that livened us up a little bit.
“We finished well again and overall we dominated the game from start to finish.
“It could have been six or seven and we’ve got to be happy with the result.”
Wisbech will hope that their Friday fortunes will continue this afternoon when they host the first of two games in four days at the Elgoods Fenland Stadium.
Creasey’s men welcome Sleaford Town – who they beat 3-0 just a fortnight ago – for a 1.30pm kick-off, before entertaining local rivals Holbeach Town for their final home game of the season on (3pm) – a fixture which could prove vital in the battle for a top-five league finish.
“We’ve got two local derbies – both at home – so we can to make sure we finish at home on the right note,” Creasey said.
“With Sleaford it’s a quick turnaround from the last time we played them so we know what to expect and Holbeach have turned their fortunes around over the last three weeks and have had some good results.
“There are four league games to go now and we know what we’re looking for and know where we would like to end up.
“We’ve got a little bit of work to do yet but we set ourselves a target three weeks ago and we’re on target.
“Other teams have games to play but we can only sort out what we can do ourselves.”
