FELIXSTOWE and Walton United can expect a frosty reception from Fenland Park tomorrow for their Ridgeons Premier Division match after reporting Wisbech striker Tom Gosling to police.
Gosling is alleged to have racially abused two of the Suffolk club's players when the two sides last met, on November 24.
The 21-year-old has been questioned by Suffolk police relating to two public order offences and released on bail.
It is believed that somebody connected to Felixstowe and Walton contacted police.
Gosling received no card during the match but featured in the referee's report after The Seasiders' manager told him about the player's alleged conduct at half-time, and received a 42-day ban and £50 fine from the Cambridgeshire FA.
The striker has denied the offences and is likely to appeal.
During his hearing he also received a 182-day ban and a £150 fine for verbally abusing a referee at a separate match.
Wisbech manager Roy McManus said: "I think it's disgraceful the way Felixstowe and Walton have gone about this.
"Nobody mentioned anything about Tom to me or any of my coaching staff either during or after the match - and we socialised with them for more than an hour afterwards. The first we heard of it was when we received a letter from the Cambs FA.
"We all thought this matter had been done and dusted; the lad won't be able to play football again until the end of the year, and I don't know what more they want from him."
He added: "They can expect no warmth or hospitality from us, and it should inspire my players to go out and win. But we have to remain disciplined and win playing football."
Nobody from Felixstowe and Walton was available for comment.
