HARES boss Brett Whaley expects his board to announce a new chairman this weekend.
March Town United's board held a meeting on Tuesday night after Gary Wesley stepped down from the position last week.
It was thought a new chairman would be unveiled after the meeting but no appointment has been made.
Whaley said: "The main objective of this meeting was to increase the number of committee members.
"I'm still completely in the dark as to who will take over as chairman but I'm expecting the board to announce a new chairman at the weekend."
He added: "It's quite frustrating because I can't start to build a squad for next season until a new chairman is appointed and other managers will be out boosting their squads so this needs to be sorted as soon as possible.
"I've been concentrating on trying to keep the squad together and I've had a much better response from the players than I expected."
The following statement, praising Wesley's work as March chairman has appeared on March Town United's website: "The Board of MTUFC wish to thank Gary for all his work over the past 10 years as chairman.
"It has never been easy, and there have been a few low points. The season 2001-02 was particularly difficult with the first team being hammered every week.
"The club was on the brink of collapse or at least slipping down the ladder like a number of our close neighbours.
"With the support of a few, Gary was able to lead MTUFC out of that mire and back on a more even keel.
"Gary has given a great deal to the club, but with more and more pressure in other aspects of his life, particularly work, he made the decision to stand down a few months ago. We hope that he will continue at the club and his experience will be valuable.
