STRONG batting from Jake Wenman (44), Stuart Mills (43), Andrew Stone (40) and Nigel Wright (40) saw March Town win their annual cricket match against Liverpool University Staff by 51 runs.

The match, played on Tuesday, is a long tradition for the Liverpool team who tour Cambridgeshire each year.

March batted first and scored 196-9 off 39 overs.

In reply March bowled all their players to restrict the University Staff team to 145-9 off 40 overs.

The pick of the bowlers was 16-year-old James Beresford who took 3-28 off seven overs.
