MARCH Rangers' BIS Division 3B match with Little Downham Swifts ended in controversy when it was abandoned after 65 minutes.

A visiting Little Downham player punched March's Wayne Redhead in the face and the referee was verbally abused.

The match was tied at 2-2 at that point with 25 minutes remaining.

March manager Rob Chapman believes the match should have been allowed to continue and has written a letter of complaint to the Cambridgeshire Football Association.
