FENMEN chairman Barry Carter is in no rush to appoint a new manager - finding the right person for the job is his priority.

Carter said: "There have been no dates set for interviews. There are a couple of people interested in the job but Roy McManus will cover for the foreseeable future and we are in no rush to make a decision.

"Roy is Wisbech through and through and he has inspired two very good performances this week.

"We haven't advertised the job but we hope to get the matter resolved over the next couple of weeks or so.

"I would personally prefer to have one person in charge but whoever is brought will be free to appoint their own team and assistant if they want to."

Kevin Boon and former Newmarket Town boss John Taylor were at the Wroxham game on Tuesday.

And one possible candidate who has been linked with a return to the club is former manager Dick Creasey, who left the Fenmen and joined Holbeach United in May.

However, Creasey has quashed the rumours, saying: "It is flattering to be linked with Wisbech but I don't think I will be going back as manager.

"I have a soft spot for the club and it hurts me to see what's going on there.

"I have offered to help if I can and one or two people probably want me to go back but I don't think it will happen.
