FIVE players have signed for March Town United and manager Brett Whaley is looking to bring in two more from Parson Drove.

Brothers Michael and Chris Anker have re-signed for the club after moving back into the area.

Chris is a goalkeeper and Michael can play as a centre-back of defensive midfielder.

Ricky Goodale, a wide-man who can play on either flank, and centre-back Craig Norman have joined from Yaxley, while striker Stuart Anderson has signed from March Rangers

Whaley is now looking at Parson Drove players Michael Cousins and Gary Haime.

He said: "The squad is now looking fit and strong. We struggled a bit last season with a bit of a lack of experience and depth in the squad, but we've certainly got that now."

March started a packed friendly schedule with a 5-0 away win over Stilton on Saturday.

Luke Pepper fired the Hares into the lead in the 55th minute with a first-time strike after a Deni Escorcio pass.

Andy Wayte ran on to a through-ball to double the advantage 10 minutes later and Lawrie Brand made it 3-0 in the 70th minute when he lobbed the goalkeeper with a volley at the far post.

New-boy Anderson increased the lead after collecting Shaun Colson's ball over the top and Ashley Brand completed the scoring five minutes from time with a cool finish after Wayte's through-ball.

March have eight friendly matches scheduled to be played by August 5.

They are away to Waterbeach on July 15, away to Fletton on July 17, away to Littleport on July 19, at home to Soham Town Rangers on July 21, away to Leverington on July 24, at home to Yaxley on July 29, at home to Wisbech Town on July 31 and at home against Chatteris on August 5.

March are now looking for a new manager for their reserve team to start as soon as possible.

Jamie Western previously held the post but has moved up to become Whaley's assistant with the first team squad.

Anyone interested should contact Whaley on 07834 699759.
