JON YOUNG found the fish feeding when March Angling Club held a match on the Old Nene above the Bypass Bridge on Sunday and won with 17-14.

He landed one good tench, one bream and 10lb of skimmers and roach from peg six.

Derek York, on the next peg, came second with 9-10 and Shaun Strachan was third 9-3.

At Tydd Gote last week Dave Parlett took top spot in the Tuesday evening match with 7-8, John Spalton was second with 6-8 and I was third with 6lb.

On Thursday evening Paul Spriggs won with 8-6, I was second with 6-2 and Parlettt was third with 5-10.

Last Sunday Mick Asker won with 14-14 of skimmer bream and roach, Colin Gibbons was second with 11-2 and Alan Lemon third with 9-14.

Draw time for evening matches are now at 4.30pm and Sunday draw times are at noon, all at the Main Road Bridge.

Manea Angling Club fished on their club waters on the River Delph at Welches Dam and Shaun Stimpson netted 20-4 of roach, rudd and skimmers to take top spot.

Dave Beekin was second with 15-4 and Mick Woodham third with 14-4.

This Sunday the Manea club will be fishing on the Old West and anybody wishing to fish should contact Phil on 01354 680024.

Mill View travelled to Barford Lakes, near Norwich, last Sunday and Des Proud won with 129lb of carp. He fished up in the water with pellet.

Kev Medlock was second with 81-6 and Pete Carter third with 76-4.

The Mill View Pensioners were in action on Magpie Lake at Pidley last Wednesday and John Smith won with a level 100lb.

Ray Sladden was second with 76-14.

Mill View will be fishing on the same lake this Sunday.

The Whitemoor Angling Club held a 24-hour sponsored fishing match on their club lake at the weekend and raised £427 for the Wisbech and Fenland Homestart.

Tony Moll won the match with 76lb and Steve Smalley was second with 65lb.

Over at Buttonhole Lake the Tuesday evening match was won by Andy Lawrence with 56lb, Lester Pratt was second with 55lb and Mark Chester was third with 40lb.

At Decoy Jon Wincup is still on top form, winning both the Saturday and Sunday opens.

On Saturday, fishing on Six Island, he took top spot with 130lb and Nigel Baxter was second with 125lb.

The following day, on the Beastie Lake, he had 109lb and Ted Sargent was second with 64lb.

Down the road at East Delph last Sunday, Rod Wells took top spot on lake two with 156lb and Dave Pearce jnr was second with 151lb.

Over at High Flyer Lake Dave Pearce snr won with 231lb, pushing his son into second place with 162lb.

Then on Sunday Richard Burch won with 163lb.

John Buckingham won on Monday with 273lb.

Finally, this Tuesday there is an open senior citizens' match on The Pool at Doddington and then next Saturday there is an open match on The Pool for all-comers.
