THE fourth round of the King of the Fens took place last Sunday on the Holland Drain and Chris Hardman made the most of peg one to win with 13-6 of skimmer bream.

There was a draw for second place between Dave Corcoran and John Hazeldene who both had 12-8 and Wades Match Group took the team title.

Sensas Bourne lead the league with 11 points and Van Den Eynde are second.

Manea Angling Club found plenty of small rudd and roach feeding on the River Delph at Welches Dam last Sunday and Phil Turner needed 6-10 to take top spot.

Last Friday the Manea juniors also had a few fish on the Old Bedford River in their evening match and Theo Wanstall won with 4-3.

The Manea club are back on the Delph this Sunday. Draw time is 7am. The juniors will be fishing at Townsend Lakes on the same day with a 7.30am draw.

On Monday, myself and Shaun Strachan travel to Oxford to fish a match on the River Thames. Shaun won with 10lb of small roach and skimmers and I was second with 6-8. If you could weigh in crayfish I would have won, as I caught 10.

On the rivers, the Chatteris stretch of the Forty Foot at Afe's Bank is fishing well for skimmers and roach.

The Sixteen Foot at Cottens Corner is producing plenty of bream and tench as is the Twenty Foot at Shepperson Bridge and the Old Nene is also worth a go at the Bypass Bridge and at Benwick.

At Tydd Gote the North Level is fishing well and a week last Tuesday Alistair Oglesby won in the evening match with 6-12. Then in the Thursday evening match Bob Bates won with 6-5 and his brother John was second with 5-10.

Last Sunday Mick Evered won with 7-15.

The evening match draw time has been moved to 5pm with fishing from 5.30-8.30pm.

On the lakes, last Saturday's open fished on the pool at Fields End Water was won by Stuart Redman, who fished up in the water with maggot to take 93lb of carp to 3lb.

On Sunday Colin Varney broke his lakes' match record with 126lb when fishing the Leverington club match.

Mill View Angling Club fished at Alders farm on Sunday and Barry Mason won with 221lb.

The senior citizens' match was fished on Magpie Lake at Pidley and Ray Sladden won with 96lb.

This Sunday Mill View will be in action at Kingsland Silver Fish Lake.

Jon Whincup is the man to beat at Decoy after he took top spot in Saturday's and Sunday's open matches. He caught 114-12 of carp to 8lb on the Beastie Lake on Saturday and caught 60lb on the Cedar Lake on Sunday.

Last Friday at Button Hole Lake, Emneth Angling Shop ran an evening open match, fishing from 6pm-midnight.

Lake owner Richard Button won with 115lb.

On the same lake last Sunday Damien Evans won with 57lb.

Whitemoor Angling Club fished at Highflyers Lake a week last Wednesday and Paul Ringham won with 115lb.

Dave Pearce jnr had a good weekend, winning the Sunday open at East Delph with 114lb. The day before he came second at High Flyers with 136lb. John Pesci won with 144lb and also won the Saturday open with 261lb.

Finally, the senior citizens were in action last Tuesday, fishing on The Pool at Fields End. Ray Sladden won with 80lb.

This Tuesday the March club are running their annual senior citizens' match on The Pool. Draw time is 8.30am and fishing is from 9.30am-1.30pm.
