WHILE the rivalry on the pitch is always fierce representatives from Wisbech and West Norfolk rugby clubs enjoyed a civilized lunch together on Saturday.
The two sides were due to play a London Division Three North East fixture at Wisbech's Harfecroft Road ground, but the match was postponed due to a frozen pitch and we be played on January 2.
Wisbech went ahead with their vice president's association lunch and welcomed a table of guests from West Norfolk.
Wisbech head coach Steve Drawbridge said: "There's always been a great relationship between Wisbech and West Norfolk. Each team has players that have played for each other and we regularly socialise with each other.
"It was our captain Tom Long's birthday and we also made the event our Christmas party, so it was good way to mark the halfway point of the season and it was great to have West Norfolk along.
"The lads will be fired up and determined to beat them on January 2 though.
