WISBECH Town go into tomorrow's home match against third-bottom Whitton United full of confidence after winning a battle of the Fens 3-2 at Ely City in midweek.

Striker Scott Cubberely, who recently turned down a move to Ridgeons Premier Division rivals King's Lynn Reserves, scored twice for the Fenmen and defender Anthony Reeve was the other Wisbech goal scorer.

Whitton are three points below Wisbech but won 4-2 at home to Stanway last Saturday.

Fenmen boss Steve Taylor has had a frustrating time in the transfer market.

He recently lost midfielder Stuart Ablett and striker Billy Smith to Soham Town Rangers and has been struggling to recruit with the club playing at a village ground in Outwell until their new stadium is built.

Former Wisbech forward Liam Nimmo, currently with Holbech, recently turned down an approach but Soham right-back Simon Flanz has joined on loan and may feature in tomorrow's match.
