Fenland Running Club is gearing up to host its third Get Running course, which is a free, six week course designed for beginners and returning runners.

The course starts at 6.30pm on Tuesday June 2 and continues every following Thursday and Tuesday until Thursday July 9 (12 sessions).

The sessions, which will cater for all abilities, have over the last two years proved their worth to many who came along and ended up fitter and heathier as well as some who then joined the club and continued to improve.

Amongst these last year was Ian King who joined specifically to get fit and lose weight.

He said: “I am certainly a lot fitter and lighter than this time a year ago. What I did not expect to find was such a friendly and supportive group of people who made me feel part of the club from day one.”

Cheryl Chapman joined after a year off from injury and now runs regularly with the club and is competing in 10K races again.

Tracy Farr had been told by friends she was ‘too old and big’ to run but was determined to try. She now regularly runs five and 10km races and has even completed a half marathon.
