Fenland Running Club ace Andrew Plume was the star as March Athletics Club held its annual Hereward Relay.
The race – which saw 100 teams sprint through Peterborough, Whittlesey, March, Welney and Ely – was no match for Plume, who finished the 39-mile ultra event in an extraordinary time of five hours, 18 minutes and 26 seconds.
In the relay event, the seven FRC teams, all named after brands of running shoes, hosted a race within a race and kept their own times.
