PROMISING athlete Jamie Horne bagged another award as his brilliant season ended on a high.

The Tydd St Giles youngster, who won high jump gold at the county championships, picked up the crown for best under-13 boys performance at the event during the Cambridgeshire Athletics Association awards evening.

The Wisbech Grammar School pupil had already triumphed in 11 out of the 12 high jump competitions he competed in during the campaign.

Horne will continue to train throughout the winter with his coach Paul Merrell and is hoping to break into the county team next year as he moves up to the under-15 age group.
