CAMBS LADIES' PREMIER LEAGUE CUP

Huntingdon 1st XI 0 Wisbech 2nd XI 3

MOTHER and daughter Gilly and Georgie Dunn combined to take Huntingdon apart.

The pair killed the game off with two goals inside a minute.

The first half was a fairly even affair with chances at both ends but neither side could find a finish.

Wisbech shaded the possession with Lou Sandall and Gilly Dunn making inroads into he Huntingdon defence on several occasions.

The second half looked as if it was going to follow a similar pattern, especially when Shelly Jones missed a gilt-edged opportunity to give Wisbech the lead.

Georgie Dunn came off the bench to save Jones's blushes as she combined with mother Gilly before scoring the opening goal with a deft finish.

The game was still in the balance and Wisbech at times had to defend resolutely in order to preserve their well-deserved lead.

Gilly Dunn then doubled the advantage and almost straight from the re-start, her daughter scored her second goal by coolly finishing after her initial effort was saved.

A great all-round performance saw Gilly Dunn voted Player of the Match in what was a terrific team display.

It was a very creditable result against a strong and experienced side and the point leaves Wisbech fourth in the table.

Wisbech were down to the bare bones of their squad but acquitted themselves well and battled hard from start to finish.

Both sides had chances to win and a draw was a fair result on the balance of play.
