WISBECH Rugby Club's first team coach Steve Drawbridge has called on the people of the town to make Harecroft Road a fortress tomorrow when his side takes on Campion for a promotion place.

Victory would see the Fenland club secure a place in the London Division North East Four.

Campion finished second in the Essex League Division One, losing just four matches, while Wisbech secured the runners-up spot in the Eastern Counties Division One.

Drawbridge said: "Home advantage could be massive for us, and for the last two years teams have found Harecroft Road a very hard place to come.

"The players a fired up, full of confidence and raring to go and I'm hoping for a big crowd to cheer the lads on and make the place a fortress."

Drawbridge has a near full squad to choose from and is waiting on the fitness of forwards Andy McCubbin, who has injured ankle ligaments and Ben Chapman who has knee ligament damage.

Wisbech finish the season with the County Cup final against Shelford, at Harecroft Road, on May 2.

Drawbridge said: "We've had a fantastic season and the players have been superb.

"But our success will be measured on how we perform in these two games."

Saturday's match kicks off at 2.30pm.

The club's end of season bash will be at the clubhouse on May 1 and tickets are available from the club.
