A fishing match held in memory of a popular Fenland angler has raised over £500 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Dozens of local fisherman took part in the annual match put on in memory of Craig Kent, who died of cancer in 2008.

Des Proud took the honours on the day at Kingsland Lake, with Ben Darrington and Peter Chilton finishing in second and third respectively.

Organiser Pat North said: “Thanks to Richard and Teresa at Kingsland for their help on the day, Craig’s family for sponsoring the trophies and Ray Best of UK Match Angler for sponsoring the match.

“Thanks also to Trudy, Sandra and Charlie who helped on the day and made it such a great success.”
