THE region's finest martial arts students will be heading to Wisbech next Saturday when the Cambridgeshire Open Taekwon-do Championships are held at the Hudson Leisure Centre.

Several students from the Wisbech School of Taekwon-do will be competing at next Saturday's event, including English national medal winners Dominic Marcinkevicious and Stuart Murat.

There are three elements to the competitions: Sparring, where students go head to head to test each others fighting skill; Patterns which test the students' capability in performing with absolute discipline; and special techniques, which tests flying kicks and in the senior classes the ability to break boards.

The event will be from 2-6pm.

Anyone wishing to enter can do so by contacting Anthony Carter on 01366 387601 or 07768 634332.

Entry for spectators is £3 for adults and $1.50 for over fives. Under fives can get in for free.
