Hundreds of local runners descended on Fenland last weekend for the 32nd instalment of Fenland Running Club’s GreenThumb FEN10.
Andrew Plume was first home for Fenland in 15th place in a time of 1:01:21, Carol Bowett was first lady home, third in the FV35 category and 151st place overall in 1:21:02 (PB), Jane Clarke finished third in the FV50 in 1:25:34 and there were new best times for John Shaw, Gilly Anderson and Lucy Hicks.
Also in action was Sarah Rippon who took on the Challenge Running Stort 30-mile Ultra race in Hertfordshire, finishing 219th with a PB time of 6:29:26 and Paulina Zub, who ran the Illuminator Run 15-mile trail run near Aboyne in Scotland and finished 321st in a time of 2:45:23.
Even further afield, FRC members were in the USA at the Cleremont Waterfront Park Run in Florida.
Martin Jennings produced an outstanding run to finish second in a time of 17:32 (first MV45), Stuart Follen was fifth overall and second MV40 in 19:47, Nicky Jennings was 22nd overall and first lady to finish in a time of 23:03 and Larissa Follen was 38th and second LV40 in 27:11.
